I'm with you on heroes, and those yellow ribbons are just silly, though I think people might legitimately ask why the pilot isn't pretty and the steward(ess) handsome. I don't know. Interestingly, <A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Scarry" REL="nofollow">Scarry</A> was still alive in 1991, so it's likely that he did actually participate in making the changes. <BR/><BR/>We have a 1965 copy of "Busy Busy World", which came from Laura's family. The stories and pictures themselves are great, but some of the names are real doozies, such as "Ah-Choo of Hong Kong" and "Happy Lappy from Finland." And such a focus on nationalities, and mostly Caucasian ones at that! My first thought on reading it was, "Boy, there's no way they'd publish a book like this today."
